Quatre ans après sa création, le GIS Peuplier a produit plusieurs milliers d`hybrides qui vont maintenant entamer leur premières évaluations au champ. L`originalité des hybrides interaméricains réside dans l`utilisation de parents P. deltoides ne présentant pas de résistance complète à Melampsora larici-populina et celle des euraméricains dans la diversité des parents utilisés. Ces premiers croisements ont le double objectif de mieux comprendre la transmission des caractères entre les parents et de viser une sortie variétale pour les meilleurs d`entre eux. Ces obtentions devront subir successivement plusieurs tests de sensibilité aux agents pathogènes qui sévissent en France ainsi que de nombreux tests agronomiques. Le GIS évalue également l`adaptation aux conditions françaises des obtentions étrangères les plus récentes. Enfin, le GIS Peuplier cherche à identifier certaines propriétés du bois qui pourraient être intégrées dans les critères de sélection. Four years after its creation, the "GIS Peuplier" has produced several thousands hybrids which are now starting their first field evaluation. The originality of the interamerican hybrids lies in the use of parent P. deltoides which do not present complete resistance to Melampsora larici-populina and that of the euramericans in the diversity of the parents used. The double objective of these first crossing is better understanding the transmission of parental characteristics and the creation of a new variety for the best of them. These crossings will have successively to undergo several tests of sensibility to pathogenic agents which prevail in France as well as many agronomic tests. The "GIS" also evaluates the adaptation to French conditions of the most recent foreign varieties. Finally, the "GIS Peuplier" seeks to identify wood properties which could be integrated into selection criteria. |
