Dans cette première partie, les auteurs traitent tout d'abord des fondements de la biodiversité et de son rôle dans le fonctionnement des écosystèmes forestiers. Ils abordent ensuite les problèmes de son niveau d'expression, ainsi que de sa mesure et des indicateurs qui pourraient permettre de l'apprécier. Après un chapitre concernant les aspects éthiques, les auteurs traitent du rôle possible sur la biodiversité des facteurs liés à l'activité humaine, autres que la gestion forestière : fragmentation et structuration de l'espace, fréquentation, cueillette, disparition des carnivores, dépôts et pollution, réchauffement global et incendies de forêts. In part one, the authors dealt first with the foundations of biodiversity and its role in forest ecosystems. They then go on to the problems relating to its level of expression and the measurements and indicators for assessing it. Following a section on ethical considerations, the authors explore the possible impact of factors involving human activities other than forest management on biodiversity - fragmentation and structuring of space, forest occupancy, picking, disappearance of carnivorous species, depositions and pollution, global warming and forest fires. |
