Cet article décrit les multiples rôles des agents de l`ONF dans la gestion des ressources génétiques forestières. L`accent est mis sur le renouvellement des peuplements, une des opérations sylvicoles qui a sans doute le plus d`impact sur les ressources génétiques forestières. Centré sur la régénération artificielle, notre propos démontre que le forestier de l`ONF agit non seulement sur la forêt publique, mais aussi sur l`ensemble du patrimoine génétique forestier français et européen. Il assume concrètement cette responsabilité par la récolte des lots de graines qui seront commercialisés dans l`ensemble de l`Union européenne. À ce titre, les opérations de contrôle et de certification des récoltes garantissent une bonne traçabilité dans l`ensemble du système.
This paper describes the various functions played by the National Forestry Board in the management of forest genetic resources. We insist on regeneration of forest stands, which is probably one of the most important silvicultural action impacting on genetic resources. Focusing on artificial regeneration, we show that National Forestry Board is acting not only on public forests but also on the whole French forest genetic pool and the European one too. Actually, National Forestry Board takes on this responsability harvesting seed lots which will be then commercialised all over the UE. Therefore, control and certification of harvests are key steps to guarantee an efficient tracability within this network.
