Résumé : | Douglas-fir is one of the most important exotic tree species for western European forestry. Seed supply was very much dependent from import in the past. The best provenance regions in the United States are of interest for many countries, so there is normally shortage of seed from these regions. Old growth stands are more and more rare and the control of origin was not always easy. The good first generation stands in Europe are more or less near to harvest time, so there is need for conservation of these populations too, which have undergone one generation of natural selection already. Conservation stand establishment, done during the present contract in Spain (CIF), Germany (NFV) and France (CEMAGREF), are presented here below. |
