| Résumé : | Volume 1 is the typical PIANC report and provides general guidance for the preparation of dredging projects that handle and treat CDM. Volume 1 is written for the primary readers of the report; navigation authorities and permitting and review agencies. The emphasis of Volume 1 of the report is on CDM from the maintenance dredging of ports and inland waterways; however, it also recognizes capital dredging and remediation of contaminated sediment and soil adjacent to the navigation channel. Many of the techniques identified by PTC I-17, having been developed for CDM, will have direct application to contaminated sediments and soils containing toxic and hazardous materials. To the extent practical, these comparisons are made to emphasize the applicability and appropriateness of the overall technical approach developed for CDM.Volume 2 contains much of the technical information and sources of technologies and experiences in dealing with CDM. These details are needed by the practicing engineer or other professional requiring specific data and pertinent sources of technical information. Where practical, there is a direct linkage between the general material presented in Volume 1 with the more technical sources of information provide in Volume 2. |
