Résumé : | Extreme floods have always been an integral part of our environment. They feature amongst the most destructive natural hazards in many countries around the world. Damage resulting from the natural destructive power of floods is aggravated by increasing vulnerability of growing populations in river floodplains. This is paired with a perception that floods nowadays impact the societies more frequently than in the past. |
