Résumé :
|
The topics cover the ways in which submerged macrophytes in lakes influence various biological and biogeochemical interactions, and ultimately affect water quality. emphasis in several chapters is given to cascading affects through the food web as a result of changes in resource and predator-grazer control. for example, plants affect the interactions between predacious, planktivorous, and benthivorous fish and between fish and invertebrates, including key organisms sush as large zooplankton and snails. changes in these interactions in turn may have cascading effects on the entire food web in both the pelagial and the littoral zone. the effect of grazing on macrophytes is also included.
