Résumé :
|
The concept of hydraulic control is discussed along with factors to be considered in design. These include providing adequate separation and minimizing intrusion of clay into the stone of hydraulic control layer (HCL). Pressure distribution and air entrapment are also discussed. Experimental data confirming the effectiveness of hydraulic control is reported. Finally, the implications of leachate characteristics for long term maintenance and aftercare of the engineered system are discussed.
