The COST Ad-hoc Technical Committe Forests and Forestry was set up in October 1990 for a period of two years. According to the terms of reference, the Committee undertook two main tasks : 1. Appraisal of scientific and technical resources which exist in each coutry within the three main research areas covered by the Committe : - Forestry, - Wood and Wood Products - Pulp, Paper and Chemicals from Wood. 2. Identification of future research priorities of common and key interest for the COST countries and selection of three subject matters (one per field) as implementation priorities for new COST actions.
