Résumé :

This book describes the hydraulics of flowing water from its inflow in the reservoir, its traveling in the reservoir and over the spillway, then in the downstream channel up to a control section. The transported sediment, the entrained air and their influence on the fluid in motion, are studied and defined by examples taken from existing hydraulic structures. Many problems are introduced to facilitate the comprehension of the flow phenomenon. The final design of a complete hydraulic structure, such as a spillway, beginning from the approach channel and including the degradation of the downstream channel is also included.A special chapter is devoted to model studies. The author has succeeded in his objective to make this book useful to students and professionals as well as specialists in the field. In the problem solution manual, comprehensive solutions of the problems are shown together and are compared with one another.
