| Résumé : | This is not a book of readings but rather a set of chapters developed as a comprehensive treatment of resource economics. It includes aggregate and micro level models and examples for most resource and environmental issues in agriculture. Technical and institutional changes are modeled and included in the range of possible policy changes. Renewable and nonrenewable resource models are presented in depth with numerical examples. The emphasis is on cropland agriculture, but examples from livestock, poultry, grazing, fisheries, orchards, and forestry fit our broad view of agriculture. Although there are specific chapters on water, pesticides, and land, evaluations of other resources appear in several chapters. Policy analysis is treated in most chapters but especially chapters 4 and 10. |
