Résumé : |
The new book consists of numerous pollen keys giving access to 568 different pollen types of central Europe and adjacent areas. Although written in German, the excellent high-resolution microscopic figures presented on 120 plates will make the book useful for every researcher confronted with questions of the central European and adjacent areas pollen flora.
The study of fossil and recent pollen, the pollen analysis or palynology, is a field of botany with interdisciplinary importance. Pollen analysis is used primarily for the reconstruction of the vegetation history of the ice age. It is able to point out climatic and anthropogene influences on the development of floras. From the interdisciplinary use of palynology not only botanists, palaeoclimatologists and archaeologists have their profit, also geologists, paleontologists, geographers and forest scientists will have their use of the book. Furthermore pollen analysis is an application in bee and honey research, during pollen risk forecast, very important within the range of allergology as well as it is used in the field of criminalistics. |
