Fuel moisture content is one of the variables more determinant of the fire behavior in wildland fires. Besides, the start of the fire depends on fuel moisture. This work is a revision document about dead fuel moisture content modelling. Main prediction models are described. Descriptions go with a comparative analysis of them and of its applicability. Tables and information about programs, which permit a quick moisture contents estimation, are included, besides theoretic basis of the different methodologies. First of all an approach to fuel moisture content topic is presented in which concepts are detailed, moisture sources and processes involved are studied, importance of fuel moisture content is emphasized, and alternatives techniques to prediction are indicated.
