Résumé : | The objective of this joint Nordic project was to increase the knowledge of the factors affecting seed development, growth and maturity of Scots pine and thus be able to give recommendations about how to 1) determine the actual seed status in terms of maturity, germination capacity, etc; 2) artificially ripen poorly developed and(or) immature seeds within cones; and 3) condition extracted seeds of poor development and maturity. This final report is presented in four parts : I Reproductive cycle, seed growth and development II Predicting anatomical and physiological maturity using morphological, physiological, biochemical and weather indicators III Artificial ripening and seed conditioning IV Environmental stress during processing and germination |
