Résumé : | Cones that had already been submitted to a first extraction by cone drying + threshing in a seed plant were uses for a second extraction by cone crushing. The latter treatment allowed commercialization of 2.5 kg additional seeds, which represents 1.5 times the quantity extracted at the first time. Germination capacity of the seed extracted by cone drying + threshing and by cone crushing were similar, as well at extraction time as after one year of storage. This is not consistent with the results of the experiment carried out in 1993 (see 1st year report) which showed that crushing led to a decrease in germination ability. The difference may be explained by the quantity of treated cones, damage being smaller when the crusher is full of cones. |
