Résumé :
|
The project focused : - on four coniferous species namely : Norway spruce ; Sitka spruce ; Douglas fir ; Larches. - on productive sites, active sylvicultural techniques and short rotation in order to have attractive economic conditions. The project was divided into five main inter-connected tasks : - breeding and selection (early tests for growth and wood quality ; introduction and test of new genetic material) ; - plants and seeds production (indoor seed orchards, biotechnology tools, nursery techniques ( essentially bulk propagation) ; physiological quality of plants) - silviculture (spacing and thinning ; demonstration plots ; harvesting) - consequences of breeding and silviculture on wood quality and on ecosystems - cost benefits analysis.
