The objectives of the workshop were to present the results to population geneticists, tree breeders, sylviculturists and legislators involted in oak research and to discuss their practical consequences in sylviculture and management of oak stands and to specify future investigations. The document is divided into four session : Interspecific variation between Q. robur and Q. petrea ; Intraspecific variation in Q. petrea and Q. robur ; genetic variation in mediterranean oaks ; Technical aspects for assessing genetic variation in oaks.
