Résumé :
|
Cold storage of dormant nursery stock can help nurserymen by concentrating lifting into a relatively brief period of time, freeing the ground for other operations and storing batches of plants so they are easy to dispatch. Early results from recent research on the effect of a direct cold store on the survival of bare-rooted broadleaved stock indicated there was no detrimental effect of cold storage on subsequent survival, provided plants had been stored correctly in sealed bags. In addition, trees that were correctly cold stored survived significantly better in late planting than unbagged plants from the same cold store or freshly lifted plants.
