Résumé :
|
The Missoula Technology and Development Center began its investigative work in February 1991. Efforts included : 1. A literature search of significant research published on tree shelters (a comprehensive biliography has been assembled and included in this report (Appendix A). 2. Locating research underway in the United States and interviewing unsers and researchers (Appendix B). 3. Conducting a market search for sources of supply and cost. 4. Indentifying possible alternative tree shelter materials. 5. Recommending more promising shelter designs, if appropriate. 6. Investigating possible solutions to the problem of reported shelter destruction by black bears. This report documents the results of the MTDC investigations.
