Résumé :
|
Twenty small stands of larch, mainly Larix sukaczewii Dyl. (Russian larch) were investigated in northern Sweden. The age of the stands varied between 34 and 89 years. The main findings are : The increment of tree height is still considerable at an age of 90 years. The productivity of the Russian larch is highly variable depending on site quality. On the most productive sites the Russian larch is overgrowing the native conifers with 10-25 % calculated on stem volume excluding bark. On poor, dry, flat or waterlogged sites or sites with a too high water table the productivity of Russian larch is inferior to that of native conifers. Surprisingly high productivity was found on high altitude sites.
