Résumé :
|
This book represents one of a three volume set consisting of an extensive dictionary of 450 univariate , multivariate and matrix-variate distributions arising in statistical data analysis and a classified bibliography of 12000 entries The special features of the dictionary are : - The chance mechanism generating a distribution - The density function and other related functions such as hazard function, etc - The moments, measures of skewness, kurtosis - The inter-relations among different distributions, with emphasis on the inter-relations which are useful in the generation of random numbers - The charts and graphs In particular, Chapter 1 of this volume covers 151 continuous univariate models and their inter-relations. The charts depicting these inter-relations are provided in Chapter 2. These charts provide a comprehensive overview of the structures underlying various distributions. The graphs of 97 density functions are presented in Chapter 3. The important features of the bibliography are : - The classification of the entries by 108 classes of distributions, 35 categories of statistical inference and structures and 10 fields of application - The grouping of entries for each of the 108 distributions according to the 35 categories provides a systematic and efficient tool to a reader for the survey of literature he needs for research, teaching, etc.
