| Résumé : | This special issue of Sistemas y Recursos Forestales is the result of the continuous effort made by research groups interested in elm trees. The quest for resistance to "graphiosis" (Dutch elm disease), the Spanish name for the illness suffered by elm trees caused by fungi of the Ophiostoma genus, is the main issue dealt with, accompanied by contributions focusing on other specific processes, whose understanding is necessary in order to find solutions for controlling the aforementioned disease and other diseases and plagues, and preceded by a historical setting in order to understand the cultural legacy represented by elm trees. |
