Résumé :
|
From the set of resolutions, adopted by the ministers responsible for forests in the process "Protection of Forests in Europe", the Helsinki Resolutions H1and H2 are the ones which most directly deal with sustainable forest management. Although being independent resolutions the European countries have considered them as highly complementary and, therefore, should be implemented in an integrated manner and followed-up together. This report is about the follow-up actions of Resolutions H1 "General Guidelines for the Sustainable Management of Forests in Europe" and H2 " General Guidelines for the Conservation of the Biodiversity of European Forests". It is organised in two parts : - Part I consists of an international report recalling the objectives of Resolutions H1 and H2, describing the active Pan-European co-operation in the implementation of the resolution's commitments, specifying the follow-up procedures that were used and analysing the different achievements in their implementation, both at national and international level. - Part II consists on a compilation of the national reports produced by the signatory states. It contains the national initiatives undertaken to implement the commitments of Resolutions H1 and H2, the general measures to promote sustainable forest management, including the conservation of biological diversity, and a summary of the status of the country's forests.
