Résumé : | Study of an other way to produce bare-root douglas fir : undercutting instead of transplanting. Two trials have been established this spring on 3 sites. After only one season, we have no meaningful results from the trials. Our prospective study gave some results. A 3 year old trial with 2 crossed factors : 3 kinds of root culturing (2 + 1,2S1S, 3.0S), and 2 sowing densities (125, 250, 500/m2) have been analysed. Root culturing has the greatest effect on plant morphology : undercuts are taller, have a greater stem diameter, and root and shoot dry weights than transplants. 3.0S had greater results for all these traits than 2S1S. On the other hand, ratios(height/diameter and shoot/root) are greater for the 2 kinds of undercuts. These ratios exceed very often the limit fixed by EEC Norms (especially for hight densities). |
