Ecolgical risk assessment decision-support sysrem: A conceptual design explores the feasibility, efficacy, and potential design of an ecological risk assessment decision-support system (ERADSS) for use by risk assessors and risk managers. This 19th SETAC Pellston workshop had historical precedence within SETAC - the idea for the workshop came out of a previous SETAC workshop in Breckenridge, Colorado, in 1987. After years of debate, invited participants convened from 23-28 August 1994 in Pellston, Michigan to address the following aspects of system design: identification of state-of-the-art methods required for ecological risk assessment; definition of decision-support system structure and its operation; development of data model management; description of user entry into model and data selection; capability to develop and integrate new or modified models within the system; standardization of model development for use in ecological risk assessment; and development of a general plan for system development. This book presents the participants'findings.
