Résumé :
|
- Data and modeling systems and their integration; data-assimilation techniques' calibration and validation principles. Data mining for knowledge discovery; emergent phenomena and processes. - Probabilistic approaches to natural and man-made systems: applications to morphodynamic processes in coastal and riverine systems, design of hydraulic structures. Applications in urban hydraulics and hydrology. - Towards new paradigms in sustainable development of water resources: knowledge systems and knowledge (self-) management principles. Scientific and indigenous knowledge acquisition, encapsulation and dissemination. Judgement and fact engines, advice-servicing systems. - Sensor technologies and devices for data acquisition and transmission; implications for on-line operations. Feedback principles in engineering construction and management. - Development of non-contact measurement methods for river monitoring and survey. Field measurements for physical and numerical modeling, operation of hydraulic structures and monitoring in water management. Measurement techniques with negligible environmental impact. - Geographical information systems (GIS) and geographic positioning systems (GPSs) for scenario development and on line-project management for the construction and operation of engineering works. - CFD and industrial fluid mechanics. Two-phase flow in hydraulic structures and machinery. New spillway design and techniques. Failures of hydraulic structures and machinery and their consequences.
