| Résumé : | The international symposium "Suspended particulate matter in rivers and estuaries" held at Reinbeck, march 21-25 1994 had three objectives: - to contribute to the state-of-the-art in particulate matter research, - to serve as a forum for the exchange of information on current research and methods, and - to encourage the different disciplines involved such as Hydrology, Limnology, Oceanography, Physics, Chemistry and biology, to a closer scientific collaboration. The symposium contributed to five major topics: - composition and properties of particulates, - spatial and temporal variatios of particulate matter including scale effects, - solutes / solids interactions, - dynamics and transport processes, and - environmental impacts. |
