Résumé :
|
Madagascar is the worlds fourth largest islad after greeland, new guinéa and borneo. of the three tropical zones islands madagascar is more effectively isolated biogeographically and hence is called an "island continent". up to recently the diatom flora in general, and presumably its endemic taxa, were poorly investigated in contrast to animals and vascular plants. 287 taxa are documented by photographs and are discussed in the text. for a considerable part, these taxa may prove to be new species. four other taxa were not found in the recent samples from madagascar and are from elsewhere, but are described here because they are similar and may give rise to confusions.
