The volume explores the problems and potentials in utilizing relatively large bodies of water fertilized and heated by recyclable wastes. the work combines a valuable survey of present knowledge with reports of experiments designed to devise new methods for turning waste heat and minerals to profitable use, offering the latest information on : marine algae production techniques and the construction of large-scale culturing systems ; culturing selected organisms and their interaction ; the cultivation of higher plants, mollusks and fish ; the grazing behavior of herbivores.
