Preliminary chapters stress the need for the marine biologist and engineer to work side by side in this bio-engineering field to design and construct adequate facilitaties for successful sea farming. a general survey is made of the marine species of molluscs, crustaceans and fish suitable for use. other chapters then traverse the design and construction of hatcheries, ponds, raceways and tanks, together with their associated hydraulic and pumping requirements. three chapters are devoted to them covering the effect of marine enclosures on environment, the control of predators and marine pollution and its effects.
