The proceeding presented here include papers that describe the basic situation regarding agriculture and water management in each member country. These identify many common features but also interesting national differences due to their different geographical characteristics. Much attention is paid to the identification of research needs in the proceeding and the are inclued in both the national contribution and the summary of discussion. Consequently this is a valuable document for the research community itself and also for policy makers and planning authorithies.
