This document follows the MQ and D project structure.The 1st chapter follows the MQ and Dproject structure.The first chapter : mathematical aspects is concerned with those mathematical structures which are use for qualitative rrepresentation purposes. The second chapter : numerical symbolic interface deals with numerical observations encoding into a symbolic formation which is either directly explicit or consistent with a qualitative model. The third chapter casality shows that this concept is often at the core of qualitative modeling. The fourth chapter on qualitative simulation details varioous methods for deriving the dynamical behavior provides a short overview of temporal reasoning in AI. A number of packages implemented in different french labsand mostly consisting of research prototypes are listed in technical cards given in appendix.
