Lygus rugulipennis Popp. was reared at the temperature 22 degrees C, relative humidity 65-85 % and the light 17 hours. Rearing on nursery treated plants of lucerne, beans, peas and rape was not successful. Better results were obtained on seedlings of Phaseolus vulgaris L. bush bean cultivar >. Adults of the 2nd generation are most suitable for rearing. Adults can overwinter in pots with lucerne in a leaf layer, nevertheless mortality exceeds 90 %. Bean plants destined as food as well as for laying eggs were obtained by germination in Petri dishes with water. For rearing nymphae of the 1st generation and adults, vegetation vessels were used, for rearing nymphae of the next generations tubes were applied. Adults need bigger plants, otherwise the oviposition takes place on cotyledons that decay before nymphae are hatched. One plant, when changed twice a weeks, can feed 2-3 adults. The period of oviposition lasted for 15-20 days, a female layed 35 eggs on the average, nymphae hatched in 8-10 days. On the average 60-70 % nymphae hatched. In the trial to rear Lygus rugulipennis continuously five generations were obtained in 340 days.
