Résumé :
|
The long-term performance of leachate and gas containment and control systems at modern landfills is addressed in this paper. Available information clearly demonstrates that these landfills can be designed to achieve very high leachate and gas collection efficiencies, at least for some period of time. To achieve long-term performance objectives, landfill containment and control systems must perform satisfactorily during the entire period of significant leachate and gas generation. This period may be different for different types of facilities and for facilities in different climatic and hydrogeologic settings.
