The metastable flow phenomenon of Refrigerant 12 through two capillary tubes was experimentally investigated. Amethod utilizing the classic nucleation theory to predict the heterogeneous nucleation of refrigerant flowing through capillary tubes was developed. A correlation for the determination of the pressure difference between the thermodynamic saturated point and the point of the inception of vaporization was established.
