The limitation of energy consumption in commercial refrigeration depends very much on the system. Means will not be the same whether one considers stand alone equipment or centralized systems. Energy consumption of centralized systems is significantly different for open or closed display cases. Typical ratios of energy consumption are presented. New technical solutions permitting the limitation of energy consumption are described. They cover both the design of display cases and of refrigerating systems. When possible on-site measurements of energy consumption of new solutions are reported.
