This book deals with the design of"barrier systems' which separate waste from the surrounding environment, and which are intended to prevent contamination of both groundwater and surface waters. Engineers involved with waste management, geotechnics and landfill desing will use the book in order to understand the concepts, find out about the latest developments and subsequently apply them to practical applications relevant to the design of barrier systems.
