Résumé :
|
What is the effect of urbanization and foret use on hydrologic and geomorphic processes ? How can we develop land use policies tha minimize adverse impacts on ecosystems while sustaining biodiversity ? This book addresses these issues and more. By featuring watersheds principally in the American Pacific Northwest, and the effects of timber harvesting and road construction on stream flow, sediment yield and landslide occurence, scientists can advance their understanding of what constitutes appropriate management of environments with similar hydro-climatic-geomorphic settings worldwide.
