The present study is focused on the simulation, with CFD-code ESTET and PWR core code THYC, of the flow in the experimental configuration VATICAN-1 which consists in a 4 by 10 rod bundle equipped with spacer grids. In this paper, after a brief presentation of both computer codes, simulation results for unbalanced flow conditions in the VATICAN-1 rod bundle are discussed. It is especially shown how ESTET predictions can help and compare THYC calculated subchannel values to local experimental data.
