The purpose of this chapter is to provide a simple introduction to the general principles and concepts of fractal geometry ; to introduce the applications of fractal analysis to problems in soil physics and protein and enzyme biochemistry that are related to problems in soil biology and biochemistry ; and to examine in detail the few ionvestigations that have been conducted using fractal analysis in soil biology and biochemistry.
