Résumé :
|
This book is a compilation of the most recent information on how to design and select envelope materials for agricultural drains. It describes the functions of an envelope, which soil characteristics typically call for drain envelopes and how to determine the need for an envelope. Selection and design procedures are recommended according to a given situation. Monitoring and evaluation of the functioning of envelopes in the field are also described. Descriptions of the traditional theory for water flow through porous media, sediment transport principles and the mechanical properties and durability of geo-synthetic materials are also included.
