Résumé :
|
Much of the organic matter in refuse landfills biodegrades anaerobically producing primarily methane and carbon dioxide. The death of vegetation above and adjacent to buried refuse has been associated with the presence of these gases in the soil atmosphere. Data obtained from surveying a number of landfill vegetation sites throughout the US are reported.
