Beads saturated with NaCl solution used as porous medium were packed in a rectangular cell. The porous medium was solidified by cooling one of the vertical walls of the cell. The above solidification process was studied analytically and experimentally. The temperature and concentration distributions were measured for three kinds of beads with almost the same mean diameters.
