Résumé :
|
In many countries, farmer-managed irrigation systems account for a significant portion of the irrigated area and food produced. A growing recognition of their importance has led irrigation agencies to assist these systems by increasing water supplies and improving reliability. Results have been mixed. To identify and define research issues and appropriate methodologies related to public intervention in farmed-managed irrigation systems, IIMI and WECS held an international conference in Kathmandu, Nepal. These 18 conference papers present recent and ongoing research, as well as agencies' experiences, on farmer-managed systems.
