"Inond' habitats" deals with the needs, towards water minimums and maximums, of plants and animals. It tries to adapt the "inondabilité" concepts. The hydrobiological demands are traduced in triplets (depth, duration, mean return period). The synthesis models "QdF" (flow - duration - frequency) allow the passing from the triplets to a single variable represented by a fictious equivalent peak discharge and its mean period return. The needs of water are then represented by an indicator of vulnerability in lack of flooding waters (acronymed TOPN), the needs of protection by an indicator of the vulnerability in excesses of flooding waters (acronymed TOPX), and the floods by an indicator of hazards (TAL). The confrontation of the indicators of vulnerability with the indicators of hazards traducts the achievement (or not) of the needs in water of the studied ecosystem. The study of three actual field examples allows to check the revelancy iof the methodological choices.
