Résumé :
|
The variations of precipitations have a great influence on human activities in the Mediterranean climate area. They are usually studied from the point of view of rainfall quantities and of number of days of rainfall. We investigate in this paper the distribution of days into spells in regard to precipitation or lack of precipitations,i.e. wet or dry spells. Two groups of series of precipitations are used.First, the Marseille Observatory series from 1865 to 1984,which has been divided into 19 overlapping 30-year series from 1865-1894 to 1955-1984.Second,the series (1955-1984) of five stations spread all over the French Mediterranean coast.
